Job Summary

Day-to-Day Responsibilities / Workload

• Work with local agencies (Cities, Counties, Caltrans) to acquire construction permits within public ROW.
• Responsible for securing permits required for work within the public right-of-way to support the installation, maintenance, and operation of utility facilities.
• Regularly coordinate and communicate with internal departments, government agencies, municipalities, and other external stakeholders to obtain approvals, ensure compliance with permitting requirements, and negotiate favorable permit conditions.
• Serve as a key liaison throughout the permitting process, helping facilitate timely project execution while maintaining positive working relationships with regulatory and permitting authorities.

Required Skills / Attributes

• One or more years of experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, plans, maps, and/or designs.
• Experience working within construction timelines and with various construction personnel and clients.
• Monitor and update permit statuses, approvals, and expiration dates.
• Familiarity with building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint.

Education Requirement

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
