Director, Direct To Patient Channel Strategy and Partnerships – MariTide

This role will support the U.S. launch of MariTide, Amgen is building a Direct-to-Patient (DTP) channel that operates alongside traditional access pathways. The model combines digital intake, telehealth-enabled care, and end-to-end fulfillment into a single, integrated experience that routes patients across cash-pay and reimbursed options based on their needs and coverage.

Reporting to the Executive Director, US Direct-to-Patient Lead, the Director, DTP Channel Strategy and Partnerships owns the strategy and execution for how MariTide reaches patients through direct channels. This role defines the channel strategy, leads the selection and management of fulfillment, telehealth, and pharmacy partners, and shapes the patient experience across cash-pay and reimbursed pathways. The Director also will lead a Sr. Manager, Partner Integration & Patient Experience, who will join the team in the near future.

This is a high-ownership role that sits at the intersection of strategy and commercial execution. The Director must be equally comfortable defining how the channel should work and rolling up their sleeves to make it happen—navigating partners, cross-functional stakeholders, and a compressed launch timeline in a highly regulated environment.

Key Activities and Accountabilities

  • Partner Ecosystem & Vendor Management

    • Lead the identification, evaluation, selection, and contracting of partners across categories including but not limited to fulfillment, telehealth, pharmacy, and platform; partner closely with Legal, serving as the primary business representative in contract negotiations with prospective partners

    • Define governance structures for each partner relationship, including SLAs, data-sharing standards, performance expectations, and escalation paths, working closely with the Director, DTP Operations to ensure operational continuity

    • Own ongoing partner performance management in partnership with the Director, DTP Operations, driving accountability against commitments and escalating risks with enough runway to act

    • Coordinate partner integration and readiness with the Sr. Program Manager, ensuring testing, UAT, and launch readiness milestones are met

  • Channel Architecture & Strategy

    • Define the channel strategy in close partnership with the ED, translating the DTP operating model into a clear, implementable channel design

    • Provide strategic guidance to support the ED in creating the DTP channel architecture, including the routing logic, business rules, and decision framework that move patients across cash-pay and reimbursed pathways within a unified intake model

    • Inform build vs. buy vs. partner tradeoffs and make recommendations with supporting rationale

    • Ensure the channel design and partnership approach scales across launch, future indications, and evolving access pathways

  • Patient Experience & Journey Design

    • Own the patient-facing channel experience strategy across intake, evaluation, prescribing, fulfillment, and refill

    • Establish standards for a simple, transparent, and consumer-grade experience at scale, reducing friction across touchpoints

    • Work with telehealth and fulfillment partners to ensure the experience is consistent and high-quality regardless of pathway

    • Oversee the Sr. Manager, Partner Integration & Patient Experience in designing and validating the end-to-end patient journey

  • Cash-Pay & Reimbursed Pathway Strategy

    • Define the strategy and decision framework for routing patients across cash-pay and reimbursed pathways within the DTP model

    • Partner with Value & Access and Contracts & Pricing on cash-pay economics, pricing transparency, and Gross-to-Net implications specific to the DTP channel

    • Ensure payment workflows, coupon programs, and copay support mechanisms are integrated seamlessly into the patient journey and partner with DTP Operations team members to ensure partners meet defined program standards and SLAs

  • Cross-Functional Leadership

    • Lead alignment with Marketing, Value & Access, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Tax, and Operations on channel design decisions with enterprise implications

    • Partner with the Director, DTP Operations on the handoffs between channel strategy and operational execution, ensuring the model works end-to-end

    • Represent the DTP channel perspective in enterprise governance forums and commercial planning processes

  • Team Leadership
