We are currently looking for aHeavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team inSaint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec. This is aday shift position, Monday to Friday, from5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Reporting to the Mechanical Manager, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding a variety of heavy equipment while providing regular updates to the Team Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, general, and scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and forklifts.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and determine the root cause of equipment failures.
  • Perform both minor and major repairs on:
    • Engines
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Braking and steering systems
    • Electrical and electronic systems
    • Transmission components
  • Complete work orders and inspection reports, documenting all work performed.
  • Ensure proper operation and responsible use of company equipment.
  • Inform the immediate supervisor of any unplanned repairs, identified issues, or work exceeding estimated repair times.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

To join our team, you should have:

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Heavy Equipment Mechanics or an equivalent combination of education and training, with skills in electrical systems, hydraulics, diesel engines, transmissions, and welding.
  • Minimum of3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ValidClass 5 driver's license (required).
  • A complete personal toolbox (both imperial and metric tools).
  • Proven ability to work independently and solve problems proactively.
  • Strong attention to detail, versatility, and reliability.
  • Initiative and the ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge and familiarity with modern equipment technologies.
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday,5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Overtime paid after40 hours
