Qualifications
Under the supervision and direction of the MHS Manager or Team Lead, the Desk Ambassador helps patients and visitors find their way around the hospital and answers phone calls. This role also gives out visitor badges, provides general information, and works closely with hospital staff to make sure every guest has a positive experience

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ

Greet all patients, guests, and staff as soon as they arriveÂ

Use prepared scripts to say hello and goodbye to every guestÂ
-
Provide room numbers to visitors when allowed by hospital rulesÂ
-
Complete visitor screenings and issue badges as requiredÂ
-
Give directions and answer basic questions about the hospital and surrounding campusÂ
-
Work as a team with other hospital staff to create a welcoming environmentÂ
-
Help keep the reception area clean, organized, and comfortableÂ
-
Respond to questions and concerns kindly and respectfullyÂ
-
Report any unsafe or suspicious behavior to hospital security right awayÂ
-
Stay up to date on hospital safety and emergency proceduresÂ
-
Keep the work area safe and neat by following company rulesÂ
-
Keep patient and hospital information private, in accordance with HIPAA guidelinesÂ
-
Do other tasks as needed or assigned by your managerÂ

Perform other duties as assignedÂ

Qualification and RequirementsÂ

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experienceÂ
-
Legally allowed to work in the United StatesÂ
-
Must pass a background check and a drug testÂ

Able to read, write, and speak English clearlyÂ

Must meet hospital health and immunization requirementsÂ
-
Ability to demonstrate professionalism, with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsÂ

Passion for customer service and attention to detail is importantÂ

Physical RequirementsÂ

Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, talk, see, and hearÂ

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionallyÂ

Must be able to push or pull someone in a wheelchair weighing between 100 and 350 pounds, sometimes over a long distanceÂ

The ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours such as weekends, holidays, or longer shifts is sometimes requiredÂ
