Lead Java Developer

We're currently expanding our organization and seeking a Lead Java Developer to join the team. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer prepared to take full ownership of sophisticated projects, guiding them from early conceptualization all the way to production rollout. You'll help design and refine services responsible for managing detailed investment data and distributed systems, where precision, reliability, and scalability remain top priorities. This role follows a hybrid format, with in-office presence expected four days per week

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain software solutions grounded in Java and Spring Boot technology
• Develop resilient, scalable APIs, microservices, and components within distributed system architecture
• Steer projects through the entire engineering pipeline, from conceptual design and build-out to deployment and sustained production support
• Diagnose and correct complex application and data-related obstacles using long-lasting resolutions
• Take part in shaping architecture, contributing to technical strategy, reviewing code, driving quality assurance, and building out CI/CD processes
• Harness AWS and other cloud-native technologies to engineer dependable, scalable infrastructure
• Coordinate with colleagues across engineering, product, and business functions to deliver meaningful technical outcomes
• Impart technical expertise and mentor fellow engineers to help strengthen their skill sets

Requirements

• Five-plus years of applied, relevant experience working with Java and Spring Boot
• At least one year of experience directing and overseeing development teams
• Proven history developing APIs, microservices, and distributed system frameworks
• Solid command of software design fundamentals, testing methodologies, performance enhancement, and production stability
• Substantial experience working with SQL and relational database systems
• Practical background applying AWS or equivalent cloud service platforms
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture patterns and associated tools such as Kafka
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaborative capabilities, combined with working English fluency at B2 level or higher, supporting precise understanding of business needs and their translation into technical solutions
• Demonstrated capability to independently lead technical initiatives while maintaining complete ownership from initial concept through final delivery

Nice to have

• Background working within financial services, investment management, or capital markets sectors
• Understanding of Corporate Actions and associated investment lifecycle processes
• Hands-on exposure to Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, or comparable technologies
• Experience building or modernizing complex, large-scale systems
