ALTEN Ltd is seeking a talentedSoftware Engineer with LabVIEW experience to support the development of advancedelectric propulsion technology for next-generationfully electric aircraft.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge engineering programme, combiningfront-end and back-end development with real-world applications in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment focused on sustainable aviation.

• Location: Bicester
• On Site: Hybrid (3days on site)
• Clearance: Clearable
• Experience Level: Junior to mid (2-3 years)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions usingLabVIEW and other programming tools
• Contribute to bothfront-end (UI/UX interfaces) andback-end (core system logic, data processing) development
• Support thedesign and development of software architecture
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hardware, systems, and test engineers
• Developtest rigs, data acquisition systems, and automation tools
• Ensure code quality through testing, validation, and documentation
• Support integration and testing activities within a structured engineering environment

Required Skills:

• Proven experience withLabVIEW (essential)
• Strong background insoftware engineering principles
• Experience in bothfront-end and back-end development
• Knowledge ofcontrol systems, instrumentation, or data acquisition systems is highly desirable
• Familiarity with languages such asPython, C/C++, or similar is a plus
• Experience working inengineering, aerospace, automotive, or other high-tech industries
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively

Required Qualifications:

• ABachelor’s orMaster’s degree inEngineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Proven hands-on experience withLabVIEW (essential)
• Solid understanding ofsoftware development lifecycle and best practices
• Experience in bothfront-end and back-end development
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in acollaborative, engineering-driven environment

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge ofcontrol systems, instrumentation, or data acquisition systems
• Familiarity withPython, C/C++, or similar programming languages
• Experience inaerospace, automotive, or other high-tech industries
• Experience withelectric motors, power electronics, or embedded systems
• Understanding ofreal-time systems and hardware integration
• Knowledge ofverification & validation processes
• Exposure toagile development methodologies
