As aPrincipal Systems Engineer (Landing Gear), you will join our team to support our activities within theAerospace sector.
You will play a key role in thedevelopment of aircraft landing gear systems, ensuring solutions are compliant withcustomer requirements and certification standards. Working within a structured systems engineering framework, you will driverequirements definition, system development, and supplier managementacross complex aerospace programmes.
- Location: Bristol
- On Site: 2-3 days per weekÂ
- Clearance: Eligibility for UK Security Clearance required
- Experience Level: Senior/PrincipalÂ
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead thesystems engineering activities for aircraft landing gear systems
- Define and manage thesystem development plan in line with programme requirements
- Capture, analyse, and translatecustomer needs into system and sub-system requirements
- Overseerequirements validation and product verification activities
- Manage the development ofstructures, extension/retraction systems, hydraulics, and electrical harnesses
- Coordinate and manageequipment suppliers (e.g. actuators, hydraulic components, electrical systems)
- Ensure compliance withregulatory and certification requirements
Required Skills:
- Strong experience insystems engineering within aerospace or complex engineering environments
- Knowledge oflanding gear systems or hydromechanical systems
- Proven experience across thefull system V-cycle
- Strong background inrequirements management and system verification/validation
- Experience managingsuppliers and external partners
- Understanding ofsafety-critical and regulated systems
Required Qualifications:
- ABachelor’s orMaster’s degree inEngineering, or equivalent military experience.
- Extensive experience insystems engineering or system development roles
- Proven experience inrequirements capture, analysis, and decomposition
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working onlanding gear systems or similar aerospace equipment
- Familiarity withaerospace certification standards and processes
- Experience withinOEMs or Tier 1 aerospace suppliers
- Exposure tomulti-disciplinary integration (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical systems)
