L2 Cloud Engineer

Role Overview

The L2 Cloud Engineer will be responsible for supporting, managing, troubleshooting, and implementing cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS. The role requires strong hands-on experience with cloud services, operating systems, networking, security, infrastructure automation, patching, and production support.

The engineer will handle escalations from L1, perform deeper technical troubleshooting, execute infrastructure changes, and support cloud environments across development, staging, and production.

Key Responsibilities

• HandleL2 BAU tickets, incidents, service requests, and infrastructure changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues escalated from L1 engineers.
• Manage and supportAWS infrastructure across multiple environments.
• Provision, configure, and troubleshootAmazon EC2 instances.
• Support AWS networking components including:
  • VPC
  • Subnets
  • Route Tables
  • Security Groups
  • Network ACLs
  • Internet Gateways
  • NAT Gateways
  • Load Balancers
• Troubleshoot network connectivity between cloud resources and applications.
• Support and troubleshootAmazon EKS infrastructure from a cloud/platform perspective.
• Support IAM users, roles, policies, and access-related issues.
• PerformSSL/TLS certificate management, renewal, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Manage and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure security configurations.
• SupportLinux and Windows Server administration.
• Perform and coordinate:
  • Linux patching
  • Windows patching
  • Reboots
  • Health validation
  • Post-patching verification
• Troubleshoot server-level CPU, memory, disk, networking, and application connectivity issues.
• Work withTerraform for cloud infrastructure changes.
• Develop and modify Terraform configurations for standard infrastructure requirements.
• Review Terraform plans and troubleshoot Terraform deployment failures.
• Support infrastructure automation throughAnsible.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, restoration, and disaster recovery activities.
• Support cloud backup and recovery activities.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring infrastructure incidents.
• Participate inproduction support and on-call rotations.
• Work with DevOps, Application, Security, and Network teams during incident resolution.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure follows security and operational standards.
