PGS Worldwide is seekingAirframe Structural Analysis Engineers in Fort Worth, Texas for an approximately one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will perform stress and structural analysis on new and existing airframe designs, including primary and secondary structures, design changes, subsystem installations, and metallic and composite components.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 16+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 14+ years of relevant experience.
  • Recent senior-level experience performing structural or stress analysis on aerospace structures.
  • Experience withairframe primary-structure layout and sizing.
  • Experience performing hand calculations and Excel-based structural analysis.
  • Experience with finite-element analysis tools includingNASTRAN and at least one of the following:
    • PATRAN
    • HyperMesh
    • Abaqus
  • Experience withCATIA V5.
  • Ability to interpret detail, assembly, and installation drawings and 3D models.
  • Experience performing stress analysis on primary and secondary airframe structures.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with subsystem and subsystem-installation stress analysis.
  • Experience performing Material Review Board (MRB) stress analysis on metallic and composite structures.
  • Experience with Abaqus.
  • Experience with TMP Vision for post-processing.
  • Experience with CATIA 3DX.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Slim, Vision, IDAT, and 3DX.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform structural and stress analysis on new airframe designs.
  • Update existing structural analyses to incorporate engineering design changes.
  • Analyze primary and secondary aircraft structures.
  • Perform structural layout, sizing, and substantiation activities.
  • Conduct hand calculations and Excel-based structural analysis.
  • Develop and evaluate finite-element models using NASTRAN, PATRAN, HyperMesh, Abaqus, or related tools.
  • Support analysis of aircraft subsystems and subsystem installations.
  • Support MRB analysis involving metallic and composite structures.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, assemblies, installations, and CAD models.
  • Work with design and engineering teams to evaluate structural performance and resolve technical issues.

Pay

  • Up to $120.00 per hour.
