The Role

As aRelease Engineer at Air Apps, you will be responsible for ensuring thesmooth, reliable, and efficient release process of our applications. You will overseeversioning, build management, and deployment workflows, ensuring that new features and updates are delivered seamlessly to users.

Your role will involvecollaborating with development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to streamline and automate release cycles, reduce risks, and maintain high standards for software delivery.

• This is afully onsite position, based at our office in Lisbon, where you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in person and contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.We are open to support with relocation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimizerelease pipelines to ensure smooth deployment of software updates.

• Define and maintainversioning strategies, ensuring consistency across multiple environments.

• Coordinate withengineering, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure timely and stable releases.

• Automate and improvebuild, release, and deployment processes for efficiency and reliability.

• Monitor and troubleshootrelease-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

• Maintain documentation forrelease workflows, rollback plans, and deployment strategies.

• Ensure compliance withsecurity, performance, and quality standards in all releases.

• Work with CI/CD tools (e.g.,Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI) to manage automated releases.

• Implement and maintainfeature flagging strategies to enable controlled rollouts.

• Analyze release performance and drivecontinuous improvements in deployment processes.

Requirements

• Around3+ years of experience inrelease engineering, DevOps, or build/release management.

• Experience withCI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, ArgoCD).

• Strong understanding ofversion control systems (Git) andbranching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based development).

• Experience withcontainerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Knowledge ofscripting languages (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation.

• Familiarity withbuild systems for mobile and web applications (Xcode, Gradle, Webpack).

• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to quickly resolvebuild or deployment issues.

• Understanding ofrelease risk assessment and rollback strategies.

• Experience working in anagile development environment with fast-paced release cycles.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to coordinate across teams.
