What is the opportunity?

This is a dual-role opportunity to lead the strategic growth and performance of RBC’s investment business in Trinidad & Tobago as the Vice President Investments and to serve as the Managing Director (MD) of West Indies Stockbrokers Limited (WISE). The role combines primary accountability for leading and growing the investment business with the additional legal-entity, governance and market-leadership responsibilities associated with the Managing Director mandate.

AsVice President Investments, you will lead a high-performing team of investment professionals focused on acquiring and deepening client relationships, delivering differentiated investment solutions, and maintaining the highest standards of client experience, compliance and operational excellence. You will collaborate across RBC to bring together the right expertise and capabilities to meet clients’ evolving financial needs.

AsManaging Directorof WISE, you will be the senior accountable executive responsible for the effective governance, regulatory compliance, and sound operation of WISE, ensuring alignment with Board-approved objectives and risk frameworks. You will act as the primary representative of WISE to regulators, government authorities, and key stakeholders, while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and prudent risk management.

What will you do?

• Lead Growth and Market Expansion:Lead strategies to acquire and deepen client relationships, increase revenue and market share, and expand the investment business across the market.
• Deliver Client-Focused Solutions:Collaborate across business and specialist teams to connect clients with integrated financial solutions that meet their evolving needs.
•  Build High-Performing Teams: Lead, coach and develop a high-performing investment team, fostering accountability, inclusion, continuous learning and performance excellence.
• Balance Growth and Risk: Embed sound risk management, compliance and regulatory practices into business decisions while pursuing sustainable growth and exceptional client outcomes.
• Provide Governance & Regulatory Leadership: Serve as the senior accountable executive for WISE, maintaining effective Board governance and strong relationships with regulators and supervisory authorities.
• Champion Operational Excellence: Oversee the sound operation of WISE, maintaining effective controls and timely resolution of audit and compliance matters.
• Strengthen Market and Stakeholder Relationships: Represent WISE and RBC with clients, regulators, government, industry and community stakeholders, enhancing reputation, market presence and strategic relationships.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Graduate Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 - 12 years of relevant experience in Sales and Capital Markets, including 5-7 years at a senior managerial level.
• Broad financial services industry knowledge, including applicable regulations, banking operations, policies and procedures.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams while achieving business and revenue results.
• Experience with legal-entity governance, Board reporting and regulated financial services operations.
• Strategic and critical thinker with demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making and governance acumen.
• Exceptional relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse stakeholders.
• High ethical standards, integrity, emotional intelligence and self-awareness, with the ability to balance growth objectives with disciplined risk management.
• Strong organizational and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment.
• Growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning, exceptional client experience and operational excellence.

Nice-to-have

• Professional designation such as Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
• Broad knowledge across multiple industries to support diverse client needs.
• Awareness of emerging financial regulations, market trends, and technology impacting investments and securities.
