Job Description:
The Senior Research Analyst will work as part of an interdisciplinary, multi-institutional U19 team to analyze and integrate large-scale datasets that include single-cell and bulk multi-omic data, immune phenotyping, social-network phenotypes, longitudinal physiological measures, survival, and reproductive outcomes. The core scientific goal is to identify molecular and environmental drivers of inter-individual and within-individual variation in biological aging across tissues, organ systems, and the life course.
Position Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year; DOE
Essential Duties:
Analyze and integrate multi-tissue DNA methylation, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CUT&Tag, snRNA-seq, metabolomic, proteomic, immune, and genotype/variant datasets.
Develop and apply statistical models to quantify age-associated, tissue-specific, sex-specific, and cell-type-specific molecular variation.
Integrate single-nucleus RNA-seq reference profiles with bulk molecular data for cell-type annotation and deconvolution.
Link molecular phenotypes to social, physiological, skeletal, pathology, imaging, reproductive, and survival data.
Develop multidomain biological-age, ageotype, aging-type, mortality-prediction, or reproductive-senescence models.
Contribute to a collaborative, transparent, and reproducible team-science environment spanning ASU and partner institutions.
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in genomics, computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, evolutionary biology, neuroscience, geroscience, systems biology, computer science, or a related field by the start date.
Experience analyzing high-dimensional biological data in R, Python, or another scientific programming language.
Familiarity with reproducible computational workflows and version control.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Interest in aging biology, functional genomics, quantitative biology, or large-scale integrative data analysis.
Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting, subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions. Regular use of standard office equipment.
