Job Summary
The Engineering Carpenter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and fabricating wooden fixtures, furniture, doors, cabinets, and interior structures throughout the hotel to ensure all facilities remain safe, functional, and in excellent condition for guests and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance and Repair
Performpreventive and corrective maintenance on wooden furniture, doors, cabinets, panels, and decorative fixtures.
Repair damagedguest room furniture, wardrobes, desks, and wooden fittings.
Fixdoor locks, hinges, frames, and sliding systems related to carpentry work.
Ensure all carpentry work complies with hotelsafety and quality standards.
2. Fabrication and Installation
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood materials according to specifications.
Installwooden partitions, shelves, cabinets, and decorative panels.
Fabricate or modify furniture when required by the hotel.
3. Preventive Maintenance
Conduct routine inspection ofguest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
Identify potential damages and take preventive actions before major repairs are required.
4. Work Order Management
Respond toengineering work orders related to carpentry issues in guest rooms and hotel facilities.
Complete assigned taskswithin the required timeframe.
5. Safety and Compliance
Follow hotelhealth, safety, and environmental procedures.
Maintain proper use and storage oftools and equipment.
Ensure the working area remains clean and organized.
6. Team Collaboration
Coordinate withEngineering team members, Housekeeping, and other departments.
Support renovation projects and improvement works within the hotel
MinimumSenior High School or Technical/Vocational School (preferably in carpentry, woodworking, or construction).
Minimum1–2 years experience in carpentry, preferably inhotel, building maintenance, or construction.
Knowledge ofcarpentry tools, woodworking techniques, and materials.
Ability to readbasic technical drawings or measurements.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
