Automotive Bodyshop Compliance Auditor (Multi-Site)

About the role
We’re looking for a Compliance Auditor, Automotive Bodyshop to join our Automotive team, and play a key role in assessing each bodyshop’s adherence to vehicle manufacturer required standards. The focus is to confirm sites remain compliant and operate safely, managing the risks involved in modern vehicle repair including ADAS and electric or hybrid vehicles, while supporting a strong customer experience.

Key responsibilities
• Multi-Site Auditing: Carry out scheduled on-site compliance inspections across the manufacturer’s approved body and paint repairer network.
•Documentation Verification: Review electronic and physical workshop records, including staff training matrices, vehicle manufacturer and ATA/IMI technician competence credentials, equipment calibration logs (ADAS alignment systems, torque wrenches) and valid Waste Transfer Notes (WTN).
•Reporting and Action Plans:Produce structured audit reports setting out conformances, minor and major non-conformances, and practical corrective action plans.
• Coaching:Share best practice with site teams across all areas of the compliance audit while on site.
• Other: May be asked to Participate in special projects around cosmetic repair and parts sales.
Skills and experience
• Industry Experience: At least five years working in or auditing automotive bodyshops, vehicle damage repair centres or accident repair networks.
• Subject Matter Expertise:Sound understanding of vehicle manufacturer standards, HSE workshop guidance, COSHH regulations and waste controls.
• Certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification, IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) certification or an equivalent automotive quality management credential is highly desirable.
• Specialist Knowledge: Familiarity with safety protocols for electric and hybrid vehicle handling, including high-voltage isolation, and with ADAS recalibration validation.
