Operations Supervisor – Steel Transport – Chullora, NSW

Job Description / The Role –

As part of our Steel Transport operation, we're looking for an experienced and safety-focused Operations Supervisor to lead daily transport activities and ensure outstanding service delivery for our customers. Based in Chullora, this role is critical in coordinating drivers, subcontractors, fleet resources and customer requirements while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational performance.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating day-to-day transport operations to ensure customer commitments are met safely, efficiently and reliably. You'll work closely with drivers, subcontractors, customers and service providers to deliver strong operational outcomes while promoting a positive safety culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities, but not limited to - 

• Plan and allocate company and subcontractor fleet to meet daily customer requirements.

• Coordinate pickups, deliveries, backloads and timeslots to ensure seamless operations.

• Monitor fleet utilisation, DIFOT performance and service delivery outcomes.

• Build strong relationships with customers, drivers and subcontractors through proactive communication.

• Ensure compliance with CoR, fatigue, mass, speed and load restraint requirements.

• Lead safety activities including load restraint audits, workplace inspections and incident investigations.

• Support driver training, inductions and competency management while maintaining accurate transport system records.

What We’re Looking for to Drive Success – 

• Proven experience in transport and logistics operations, with a strong understanding of fleet coordination.

• Sound knowledge of transport management systems and Chain of Responsibility compliance.

• Ability to manage drivers, subcontractors and daily operational demands in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.

• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive safety focus.

• The ability to make sound operational decisions and lead by example in safety and service delivery.
