Role Overview
We are seeking a seasonedTechno-Leadership Director to lead theEngineering function for Backup, Recovery, and Cyber Resilience across hybrid enterprise environments. This role will drive strategy, architecture, and execution of advanced backup and recovery solutions spanningAzure, AWS, and on‑premise private cloud, ensuring operational resilience and regulatory compliance for mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Provide visionary leadership for enterprise backup and recovery engineering teams.
Define and execute long-term strategies forbackup, disaster recovery (DR), point-in-time recovery, and cyber vault recovery (clean room environments) across hybrid cloud platforms.
Partner with senior executives, risk governance, and compliance stakeholders to align recovery capabilities with regulatory mandates.
Engineering & Operations
Architect, engineer, and optimize enterprise backup solutions leveragingCohesity, Rubrik, Azure, AWS, and private cloud platforms.
Lead design and implementation ofcyber recovery vaults, immutable backups, and clean room recovery environments.
Establish and enforce standards fordata protection, recovery SLAs, and resilience testing across global infrastructure.
Drive automation, orchestration, and modernization of backup workflows to improve efficiency and reduce recovery times.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure adherence to industry frameworks (NIST, ISO, COBIT, DORA, PRA, Federal Reserve, CSA CCM, CIS Controls).
Partner with risk and audit teams to demonstrate compliance with financial industry regulations.
Lead resilience exercises, cyber recovery simulations, and regulatory reporting.
Team & Stakeholder Management
Lead and mentor engineering teams across regions, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, and cybersecurity leaders to ensure seamless recovery integration.
Present recovery strategies and outcomes to executive leadership and regulators.
Qualifications
Experience: 18+ years inbackup and recovery engineering within large enterprises, preferablyfinancial organizations.
Technical Expertise:
Deep hands-on experience withCohesity, Rubrik, Azure, AWS, and private cloud backup platforms.
Strong knowledge ofbackup architecture, disaster recovery, point-in-time recovery, cyber vault recovery, and clean room recovery.
Expertise in cloud and hybrid backup strategies, automation, and orchestration.
Leadership Skills:
Proven track record of leading large-scale engineering teams.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and regulators with clarity and confidence.
Certifications (preferred): TOGAF, ITIL, CCSP, Azure/ AWS Solutions Architect, Terraform, CISSP, or equivalent.
