About the Role

Play a key role in enhancing the discovery, accessibility and delivery of Library resources and digital services that support learning, teaching and research across the University. As part of the Digital Platforms and Services team, you will provide specialist expertise in Library systems, digital platforms and service improvements, ensuring resources and services are discoverable, accessible and aligned to user needs. Working collaboratively across the University, you'll help shape digital experiences that meet users where they are, making Library resources and services easy to discover, access and use.

You will also be responsible for:

• Leading the development, optimisation and maintenance of Library systems and digital platforms.
• Driving projects and initiatives that enhance discovery services, digital access and user experience.
• Improving workflows, integrations and processes to support efficient and effective service delivery.
• Providing specialist advice, training and support while fostering continuous improvement and innovation.

This position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan to "Changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters", by 2035 through enhancing the discovery, accessibility and delivery of Library resources and digital services that support learning, teaching and research outcomes across the University. About You

You are a collaborative and user-focused library professional with a passion for improving how people discover, access and engage with information. Combining technical expertise with strong problem-solving skills, you enjoy working with systems, digital services and stakeholders to deliver meaningful improvements and positive user experiences. As part of a supportive and innovative team, you will use your knowledge and initiative to help shape the future of Library services and digital platforms.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Experience administering, configuring and optimising library management systems, digital platforms and related technologies.
• Knowledge of the systems, technologies and processes that support the discovery, accessibility and delivery of scholarly resources.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to provide advice, guidance and training.
• Well-developed analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities and contribute to service improvements.

The ideal candidate will also hold a relevant university degree in Library and Information Science or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

Prescribed Conditions for Employment

Appointment to this role is conditional on the completion of required pre-employment checks and declarations, each of which must be satisfactory to the University. This includes:

• A current completed Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Gender Based Violence Declaration which is satisfactory to the University.   • Demonstrated experience in the administration, configuration and optimisation of library management systems and associated applications, including the ability to apply technical knowledge across systems, metadata, integrations and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the systems, technologies and processes that support the discovery, accessibility and delivery of scholarly resources and digital services in an academic library environment.
  • Well-developed to high-level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to develop documentation and training materials, provide guidance, and build effective collaborative relationships with stakeholders, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Well-developed to high-level organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, contribute to projects, respond effectively to change and deliver outcomes within required timeframes.
