CDL-A Local Grocery Driver – Good Pay | Home Daily
Earn $85,000–$100,000 per year delivering fresh and frozen groceries on a dedicated local account. Drivers enjoy daily home time, consistent work, and routes throughout the Hudson Valley, Long Island, and the New York City area after completing required training.

- Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,650–$1,950
- Seniority-Based Annual Average: $83,600–$87,600
- Double dock pay available
Job Details
- Deliver fresh and frozen groceries in 48-, 51-, or 53-foot reefer trailers.
- Serve supermarkets and distribution centers within approximately 250 miles.
- Delivery areas include the Hudson Valley, Long Island, the five boroughs of New York City, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania backhaul routes.
- Approximately 20–25% of freight delivers in New York City.
- Complete multi-stop loads, typically 15 or more stops per week.
- Usually run 2 loads per day or one longer load.
- Handle return product or backhaul pickups at the final stop.
- Mostly no-touch freight; occasional pallet jack unloading may be required when supporting other accounts.
- Support other local distribution accounts approximately 2–3 days per week.
- New drivers must complete NYC training and will not run NYC routes until they have at least 6 months on the account.
Shift Details
- Tuesday–Saturday
- Start time: approximately 1:00–5:00 AM
- Sunday and Monday off
- 5-day workweek
- Two mandatory sixth days per month
- Sixth-day work is required around the six major holidays.
- Thanksgiving: Off
- Christmas: Off
- New Year’s: Not guaranteed
Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience
- DOT Medical Card
- No SAP Drivers
- Reliable personal transportation to and from work
- Ability to complete NYC training before operating NYC routes
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to assist with pallet jack unloading when assigned
- Ability to operate safely and legally at all times
