About the Role

This is a hands-on role for a junior contract lawyer who enjoys practical legal work and wants to improve the way the legal team operates. You will take day-to-day responsibility for supplier and sales contracts at Toyota Connected Europe ("TCEU"), drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements that support our connected-vehicle, telematics and SaaS products across Europe.

You will work across a broad range of contracts, many of which will be governed by English or Polish law, so you will be comfortable working within those frameworks and coordinating with colleagues in London.

Alongside contracting, you will play a real part in our legal operations, helping to improve templates, playbooks and processes and run the team's use of AI legal tools. As TCEU continues to develop its legal operating model, you will also help identify which activities can be standardised and/or automated.

The role is based in Wrocław, where you will work closely with the Legal and Compliance team and stakeholders across the business. You will report into the Legal Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of supplier and sales contracts including services, technology, SaaS, supply, resourcing and related commercial agreements.

• Support the end-to-end contracting process, from intake and triage through negotiation to signature and filing.

• Help maintain and improve legal operations, including contract lifecycle management, template libraries, playbooks, standard clauses and reporting.

• Manage, test, and optimise AI review tools and translate approved legal positions into AI prompts, playbooks and workflows.

• Help identify opportunities to standardise, automate or outsource appropriate routine contracting activities, while ensuring that matters requiring legal judgement are identified and escalated appropriately.

• Act as a practical, approachable point of contact for internal stakeholders on routine contracting queries, giving clear guidance in plain language.

• Help monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and translate them into practical updates to templates and guidance.

• Coordinate with, and manage, external counsel and managed legal service providers, including with regards to allocation of work, quality, turnaround time and appropriate escalation.

• Contribute to legal and compliance awareness and training initiatives across the business.

About You

You are a qualified lawyer, early in your career, who is pragmatic, commercially minded and keen to learn. You enjoy contracting work, take pride in getting the detail right, and are comfortable operating in a scaling tech environment where priorities evolve quickly. You are also interested in improving processes and using technology and external resources to make legal delivery more efficient and scalable. You are well organised, able to manage a varied workload, and happy to work both independently and as part of a close team.

Essential Experience:

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 1–3 years' post-qualification experience.

• Hands-on experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly supplier and sales agreements.

• Experience working with contracts governed by English and Polish law.

• Strong written and spoken English.

• Clear, practical communication style and good attention to detail.

• A genuine interest in legal operations, process improvement and technology-enabled ways of working.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a technology, SaaS or automotive business.

• Exposure to legal operations and contract lifecycle management tools.

• Working knowledge of GDPR and data protection contracting, such as data processing agreements.

• Experience using AI-enabled legal technology or a strong interest in responsible AI adoption within an in-house legal team.

• Experience working with external legal providers or outsourced legal services.

• Experience working within a corporate group or international matrix organisation.
