Dayshift Cafe Utility | Balcatta Support Centre

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Dayshift Cafe Utility to join our team in Balcatta, Australia. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient cafe environment. You will support our cafe operations by ensuring all areas meet our high standards of cleanliness and hygiene while working collaboratively with our cafe staff to deliver an excellent customer experience. 

This role is a Full Time position, working a fixed roster, weekdays Monday to Friday, from 7.30am to 3.30pm performing the following duties: 

• Clean and sanitize all cafe areas, including dining spaces, kitchen areas, and restrooms, following established health and safety protocols
• Perform dishwashing duties and maintain all cafe equipment in proper working condition
• Restock supplies, including napkins, utensils, cups, and other cafe essentials throughout the day
• Remove and dispose of waste materials in accordance with environmental and health regulations
• Assist with food preparation areas by maintaining cleanliness and organization standards
• Support cafe staff with general operational tasks to ensure smooth daily operations
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages
• Respond promptly to spills and other maintenance issues to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Assisting with ordering and replenishing cafe stock 

• Proven experience in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality environment (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (preferred)
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Reliability and punctuality
• Food handling certification or willingness to obtain one (preferred)
• Customer service orientation and professional demeanor
