The primary teaching assignment and research focus will be in the Department’s Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management Program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate potential for an active, high impact emergency management research program. Responsibilities include producing peer-reviewed publications, presenting at professional conferences, and applying for external funding. Additional responsibilities include preparing, developing, and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses across multiple programs in the Department of Health Sciences and Risk Management. Applicants should have the ability to teach a broad range of courses across disciplines such as emergency management, health and/or public administration, policy, research methods, and program development and evaluation. Faculty are expected to maintain regular office hours, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and participate in course/program assessment. Faculty are also expected to engage in departmental, college, university, and professional service activities that are in the best interest of the students, university, community, and the discipline at large. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development, assessment, and advancement of academic programs, including curriculum development, program assessment, workforce alignment, and engagement with external stakeholders.
