The Inventory Tech I is a well-balanced, skilled operator that feels at home and drives impact wherever they are placed in the warehouse or office setting. This individual works closely in support of Service Desk and other cross-functional teams to be a key success component of the company’s asset lifecycle and high-quality service delivery.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, business acumen and a capacity to dive deep to solve complex problems. Experience partnering with cross-functional business and technical teams is a requirement. The candidate must be a self-starter and be able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level with a strong attention to detail.
- Fulfill requests for IT equipment for new hires, replacements, upgrades and other various types of hardware requests Â
- Provide IT supply chain support to fellow IT teamsÂ
- Request quotes from suppliers and place orders through CoupaÂ
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of ordersÂ
- Assist with onboarding of new suppliersÂ
- Use of inventory management systems to accurately assign, store, and move equipmentÂ
- Order and fulfill hardware replenishment tasks for IT staffed locationsÂ
- Perform forecasting of needed hardware Â
- Receive and process equipment from suppliers, employees and various sitesÂ
- Package and prepare IT hardware for shippingÂ
- Knowledge of OSHA ComplianceÂ
- Utilize shipping software to perform shipments of IT hardware or other materialsÂ
- Receive hardware into IT Asset Management systemsÂ
- Assign, suspend, and activate mobile lines as requested/neededÂ
- Clean IT Equipment and prepare for reuseÂ
- Process Hardware for Retain Hold or Legal HoldÂ
- Prepare hardware and update software for employee useÂ
- Configure and provides computers for remote locationsÂ
- Update Internal Asset Management system of record (ITAM) when deploying asset(s) to a requesterÂ
- Handle issues that may affect the laptop provisioning process including but not limited to; submits and follows up on tasks to other IT teams or suppliers for supportÂ
- Test equipment to ensure device is functioning properly prior to deployingÂ
- Mobile Carrier SupportÂ
- Troubleshoot hardware issues and work with other IT teams to resolve as neededÂ
- Ensure proper lost/stolen device management such as locking, updating ITAM system and replace hardwareÂ
- Work with requesters to update assigned devices in ITAM system Â
- Wipe device user data from previous users Â
- Send IT hardware to repair vendors Â
Supply Chain Support ActivitiesÂ
- Responsible for creating purchase requisitions with existing approved vendorsÂ
- Processes ticket-based requestsÂ
- Shipment Tracking for inbound and outbound shipmentsÂ
- Responsible for driving solutions to resolution for vendor related issues and escalating issues as needed to internal management as neededÂ
- Gather data to assess Supply and Demand mechanisms to ensure our stock levels are healthy and order promptly and consistentlyÂ
- Assist with the creation and management of the hardware catalog SKUs and price listsÂ
Task ManagementÂ
- Ensure proper movements and updates in Inventory Management SystemÂ
- Manage individual task backlogÂ
- Manage team task backlog and escalations, when applicableÂ
- Review and report out 30% statistical random sample size of close tasks weekly for quality and timeliness of deliveriesÂ
- Monitor and drive task handling quality process across teamÂ
- Manage task queue to meet or exceed targets, ensure quick time to fulfillment, and maintain high qualityÂ
- Report out trending issuesÂ
Service SupervisionÂ
- Audits task data to ensure task handling quality and timeliness meets or exceeds expectationsÂ
- Observes and reports on service trends across individuals and team as a wholeÂ
- Track and report on progress of projects and present metrics, performance, casuals, and improvement strategiesÂ
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, operations, logistics and inventory managementÂ
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment; ability to re-prioritize on a regular basis in order to remain current with business needsÂ
- Self-motivated; ability to handle multiple responsibilities under limited supervisionÂ
- Experience with Coupa or similar BSMÂ
- Professional communication skillsÂ
