At Vessev, we’re defining a new category of marine transport: hydrofoiling electric vessels that are genuinely better for people and the planet. In 2024, we launched our first vessel, the VS–9, and made headlines in Forbes, Electrek, New Atlas, and more. It was a big step forward, and just the beginning.

With strong momentum, global interest, and major milestones ahead, we’re looking for a driven and creative Public Relations Manager to join us and help drive a constant drumbeat of global coverage.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves media relations, enjoys writing across different formats, and wants to apply that craft in an exciting, emerging category.

The role

You’ll be joining a small and tight-knit marketing team at a pivotal moment for the business. We’re currently working with a highly capable, global PR agency, and over the next 6–12 months you’ll work closely alongside them – actively contributing from day one and progressively taking on greater ownership of media relationships and outreach.

At the same time, you’ll be writing content for our owned channels, ensuring everything we put into the world feels connected and tells the whole Vessev story.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and wants to build something new.

Supporting and growing our PR engine

Working closely with our PR agency – sharing context, shaping angles, coordinating inputs, and helping ensure campaigns land well.
Hands-on ownership of pitching, media outreach, and journalist engagement across PR activity and story opportunities.
Identifying and acting on timely hooks, angles, and cultural/industry moments where Vessev can be a part of the conversation.
Helping maintain momentum – from big product launches to a drumbeat of evergreen coverage.
Building and maintaining a strong network of global media contacts who trust you and are excited to hear from you.

Writing and shaping integrated content

Writing across formats including press releases, white papers, blogs, emails, LinkedIn content, and thought leadership.
Creating both earned and owned content, ensuring they work together to tell our story in a consistent and compelling way.
Writing confidently in Vessev’s brand voice – adapting for different channels and audiences while staying true to who we are.

Working closely with our engineers, product team, and leadership to understand what we’re building and why it matters.
Turning complex ideas into clear, human-centred stories that resonate beyond technical audiences.

Testing and learning

Keeping across trends, competitor activity, and relevant news, becoming a go-to source of industry knowledge internally.
Tracking coverage and performance to understand what’s really working. You’re happy to test and learn as we go to understand what’s working, what’s not, and what we can do differently.

About you

You don’t need to be an expert in marine, hydrofoiling, or electric transport. What matters most is that you’re a strong communicator, a curious thinker, and someone who takes ownership of their work. You’re extremely flexible and adaptable, and will thrive in a startup environment where things are constantly evolving.

Experience across both B2B and B2C is helpful, but at the end of the day, we believe all marketing is B2H: business to human. If you are a strong storyteller and people-person, that’s what matters.

You’re energised by media relations and relationship building, not just content production behind the scenes.

We’re looking for someone with

3+ years of experience in PR or communications (agency or in-house).
Solid foundations in media relations and a strong desire to deepen this skillset.
Excellent content writing ability across formats and audiences.
A creative and resourceful mindset. You can find and create a story where others might not.
The ability to understand technical information and how our technology works.
A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude – we all roll up our sleeves, and no job's too big or small.
A collaborative mindset and a desire to do great work together.
A passion for meaningful and future-focused work.

Bonus experience

Writing blog or long-form content for SEO/GEO .
Social content writing or community management.
Experience in, or curiosity about, the technology or marine industry.
