Vaultoro is a pioneering gold-to-crypto exchange that bridges traditional assets with the blockchain world. As the Lead Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving our technical vision and building a world-class engineering team, ensuring our platform is secure, scalable, and innovative.

After a recent acquisition, we're looking to re-build the team from the ground-up. You will be responsible for this transformation.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Head of Engineering with proven experience building teams and delivering projects in complex, high-performance environments. This role requires expertise across a wide range of technologies, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices. You will play a critical role in shaping the platform’s architecture and lead by example to inspire technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and delivery of Vaultoro’s platform and trading systems.
Build and grow the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Own the end-to-end technical stack, including backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
Ensure platform reliability, security, and scalability through best practices in DevOps and DevSecOps.
Manage cloud infrastructure and deployments usingKubernetes andGoogle Cloud.
Develop and optimize applications usingNode.js,Golang,Python,React, andTypeScript.
Implement robust and efficient database systems withPostgres,Redis, andMongoDB.
Lead security-first development practices, including regular audits and compliance.
Report directly to the CTO and collaborate with leadership to define technical strategy.

Location

Vaultoro has a HQ in the UK with their parent company located in Denmark. We're looking for remote first applicants within ±4 hours of the UK.

7+ years of professional engineering experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience delivering complex projects and scaling production systems.
Demonstrated expertise withNode.js,Golang,Python,React, andTypeScript.
Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and incident response.
Hands-on experience with DevSecOps, integrating security into all stages of development.
Proficiency withKubernetes andGoogle Cloud infrastructure.
Solid expertise in database technologies:Postgres,Redis, andMongoDB.
Knowledge of best practices for trading systems and financial platforms.
Strong track record of building and mentoring engineering teams.
Ability to showcase recent projects that demonstrate your technical and leadership skills.
