Summary

The Content Editor is the visual storyteller—turning strategy and narrative into dynamic visual content that informs, inspires, and activates audiences. This position requires hands-on creative production skills in video editing, motion graphics, and visual design. As the Content Editor, you will join a special project team working to support one client. The Pivot Group will serve as an incubator for this role, whereas Hummingbird Media will be the primary client.

This is afull-time, temporary position through December 2026 with a competitive salary and excellent benefits. The nature of our business requires long hours, and we expect all staff to be flexible in this area. Weekend and evening work will be required. However, Pivot works to ensure all staff maintain a healthy work/life balance.

Responsibilities

Primary focus on producing and editing short- and long-form videos for social media, web, and multimedia campaigns.
Design static and motion assets and visual templates for multi-channel digital use.
Collaborate with writers and strategists to transform concepts into compelling visual stories.
Maintain brand consistency and high production standards across all deliverables.
Manage video and digital content pipelines from concept through final delivery.

Qualifications

Candidates for the Content Editor role must submit a portfolio, website, or other examples of previous video and motion graphic work. Applications without this information are considered incomplete.

What you bring to the team:

5-10 years of practical, demonstrated, or project-based experience in video editing and digital content production.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) or comparable tools.
Strong understanding of visual storytelling, typography, and motion design.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in political or advocacy storytelling is a plus but not required.
Commitment to racial equity, social justice, and democratic causes.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary for this position is set at $7,083 per month. There is also the opportunity for end of year bonuses, based off individual and firm performance. To ensure pay equity across our team, salaries are non-negotiable.

You will meet with the manager for this position. You'll learn more about the day-to-day work and responsibilities.

4. Final Interview (30-45 min)

A final round interview with a member of the hiring team.

5. Reference Checks
