In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and approving mortgage loan applications, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Your expertise in financial analysis and risk assessment will be crucial in determining the creditworthiness of applicants and facilitating sound lending decisions.

Responsibilities

- Review and analyze loan applications, financial statements, and supporting documentation to assess borrower eligibility. - Conduct thorough credit analysis to evaluate the risk associated with each loan application.

- Utilize financial modeling techniques to project cash flow and assess the applicant's ability to repay the loan.

- Collaborate with loan officers and other stakeholders throughout the loan origination process to ensure a smooth workflow.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards during the underwriting process.

- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters, sharing best practices and industry knowledge.

- Stay updated on changes in lending regulations, market trends, and financial concepts that may impact underwriting decisions.

- Proficient in loan processing with a strong understanding of mortgage products and services.

- Excellent mathematical skills for accurate calculations related to financial assessments.

- Strong background in financial modeling and cash flow analysis to evaluate borrower capacity.

- Knowledge of tax implications related to income verification and asset assessment.

- Experience working within a banking environment with an emphasis on credit analysis.

- Familiarity with various financial concepts relevant to mortgage underwriting.

- Ability to effectively communicate complex information clearly and concisely to both clients and team members.
