The Loyalty Design Engineering squad is a newly formed, cross-functional platform product team with a clear mission: to drive consistency, efficiency, and distinctiveness in S Group’s loyalty experience and brand across all digital services.This will be done bybuilding andmaintaining shared UI components, brand assets, and tools that elevate developer experience.

As the Lead Engineer, you will combine hands-on development with technical leadership, owning the architecture, infrastructure, and strategic direction of the platform. You willlead the development of our sharedcomponent library and developer documentation,drive consistentarchitecturewithin theLoyalty unit,enabling product teams across SOK to deliver scalable, cohesive, and data-driven digital experiences. This is a role where you will have a significant opportunity to shape how loyalty experiences manifest across SOK’s digital services,and how your squad works together to achieve that. You willhelp define team practices,improvecollaboration, and ensure ahigh-performing,continuously learning,inclusive engineering culture.

Youwon’t be doing this alone.You’ll be supported by yourteam lead, tech leads, and a network of other lead engineers across the organization, all working together to build a strong technical foundation for the future of loyalty at SOK.You will alsocollaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product owners to ensure the platform isfit-for-purpose,impactful, and aligned with our broaderloyaltystrategy.You will work as a forcemultiplier to fullyrealize thedigital experience ofS-etukortti, Finland’s mostattractiveconsumerbrand.

Your responsibilities:

Lead the development and evolution of the shared UIcomponent library and developer documentation.

Own the technical architecture, infrastructure, and tooling that support scalable and consistent digital experiences.

Define and implement platform governance to ensure long-term maintainability and quality.

Shape team ways of working,ensuringcommunication, autonomy, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product owners to align platform capabilities with business and user needs.

Provide tools and guidance for external contributors to integrate their components into the shared system.

Champion developer experience, ensuring the platform is intuitive, well-documented, and easy to adopt.

Influence how loyalty experiences are designed and delivered across SOK’s digital ecosystem.

Whatwearehopingfromyou

10+years offull-stack engineeringexperience,withstrongbackground inReact (Web/Native) andTypeScript.

Provenexperience intooling,infrastructure, andDevOps,including monorepo management and CI/CDpipelines.

Solidexperiencedeveloping softwareserviceswith AWS products andinfrastructure.

Deepunderstanding of APIintegration,applicationsecurity, andperformanceoptimization.

Experienceleadingplatform products,governance, and cross-squadtechnicalstrategy.

Aproduct engineeringmindset:seeking tounderstandthe “why”behindfeatures,aligningtechnicaldecisionswithuser and businessvalue.

Familiaritywithcomponentdocumentation anddeveloperenablementpractices (e.g.Storybook,contributionguides).

Strongcollaboration andcommunicationskills,ability tomentor andinfluence.

Fluency inbothFinnish and English.
