**About the Role** As a founding member of our GTM team, you'll own our outbound strategy and have the responsibility of generating pipeline. This is a ground floor opportunity to be the first Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Soma Lab and help shape our go-to-market strategy. You'll be joining a fast-paced startup environment where your role will evolve as we grow. You'll have the autonomy to experiment with different approaches and directly impact our sales pipeline development. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear path to progress into an Account Executive position as we expand our GTM org. **A Day in the Life** * Start your day with a clear plan, diving into targeted prospecting across channels (primarily cold emailing) * Conduct research on and reach out to target accounts and prospects constantly mainly through outbound (cold calling, cold emailing) * Leverage your deep knowledge of essential SDR tools (CRMs, outreach platforms, research tools) to streamline your workflow and manage a robust pipeline * Continuously refine and optimize our outreach process—experience as an early-stage SDR is preferred here * Maintain meticulous records of all prospect interactions in our CRM to ensure a smooth handoff to the founders * Collaborate with founders and colleagues to share insights and feedback that drive our growth **Key Responsibilities** * **Lead Generation**: Conduct targeted outreach to identify and engage potential clients in a few different verticals. * **Prospect Qualification**: Qualify leads based on their needs, pain points, and interest level * **Outreach Strategy**: Develop and execute outreach strategies (cold emailing, and some other methods) to generate interest and build the top of the sales funnel. * **Pipeline Management**: Maintain organized records of prospect interactions and progress in our CRM, ensuring accurate data to support smooth handoffs to the sales team. * **Collaboration**: Work closely with the founders to refine lead generation and qualification strategies. **What We’re Looking For** * **Experience:** 1-3+ years as an SDR (preferred at an early-stage company), with a proven track record in outbound lead generation * **Tool Savvy:** You know the ins and outs of the tools every SDR needs to succeed and can hit the ground running * **Self-Starter:** Highly motivated and ready to take complete ownership of your role in a fast-paced, evolving environment * **Communication Pro:** Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that make you a natural at engaging prospects * **Process-Oriented:** **_You know the SDR playbook_** and are eager to refine and optimize our process for maximum impact & outreach efficiency * **You’re Extremely Organized and Process Oriented:** You’re incredibly organized and follow a strict process to maintain CRM cleanliness and keep track of experiments you’re running and the results. * **You Know Sales Dev Best Practices** - in short, this isn’t your first rodeo. Students and healthcare providers practice with our healthcare simulations to build skills and get evaluated. It is illegal to train without direct clinical supervision, limiting scale. These restrictions don’t apply to AI patients, providing a scalable solution that helps organizations train more people, meet accreditation standards, and grow faster.
