About the Team

The Servicing Platform team is the core engineering organization at the center of all programs of our client. Its mission is to build a world-class platform to enable clients to create, manage, understand, and use their insurance, and empower insurance professionals to serve clients. It is a high-impact org and owns multiple domains such as:

Core insurance data platform to power all insurance products, operations, and intelligence.
Admin ecosystem to empower insurance professionals to service and market insurance.
Client-facing ecosystem to empower clients to understand, manage, and use their insurance and manage their risks.
Emerging AI/LLM powered applications to supercharge both clients and admin to automate insurance operations and usage.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Being a technical leader and owner of the Servicing Platform Engineering Team, working through ambiguity, concept validation, and implementing a best-in-class solution. You will be leading initiatives to drive all domains.
Identifying areas of improvement and driving foundation opportunities on the web and backend.
Collaborating with cross-functional design, product, and data science teams to design and deliver high-quality products and influence outcomes.
Following a data-driven approach to iterate product features. Helping build out the team and cultivate innovation and growth by driving cross-collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams.
Mentoring junior engineers with best practices and being a player/coach of the performance team to ensure code quality, commitment to craft, and operational excellence.
In the AI domain, driving the rapid prototyping of software applications applying AI/ML technologies. Serving as the software generalist leading the development process from ML model design and implementation to backend and frontend development.

Qualifications:

BS, MS, or Ph.D. in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience leading web application development at scale.
Strong programming and data engineering in one or more backend server languages (TypeScript/Python/Java/Ruby/Go/etc).
Experience with web development best practices such as continuous integration and continuous deployment.
Proficiency with RDBMS such as MySQL/PostgreSQL.
Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
A track record of leading engineering project teams and working with cross-functional partners to deliver technical solutions that achieve team and organizational goals.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience using TypeScript on the backend is preferred.
Experience with JavaScript backend frameworks such as Express/Node.js/Nest.js is preferred.
Experience with data pipeline and data-driven analytics.
Experience with deploying or leveraging ML models and LLMs to power business apps. Having a decent understanding of ML essentials and having a background to work and speak the same language with data scientists.
Strong experience with popular AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
