# Accounting Operations Lead (Controller Track) **Location:** US-based (Remote or Los Angeles hybrid) **Salary:** $100,000 – $115,000 **Company:** Pure **Website:** [https://collectpure.com](https://collectpure.com) ## About Pure Pure is an online marketplace for precious metals and rare coins. We facilitate high-volume trading of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium bullion between coin shops and institutional buyers. Our platform processes over $500M in annual transaction volume that must be accurately reflected in our accounting systems. Our accounting environment combines: - A proprietary internal marketplace platform - Custom API integrations into QuickBooks Online - High-volume payouts and wire activity - Rapid inventory turnover tied to precious metals pricing We are a 10-person startup building the financial infrastructure for a modern metals marketplace. This role will work directly with the Controller to operate and scale the accounting function, with a clear path to becoming Controller as the company grows. # The Role We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Accounting Operations Lead who thrives in high-volume transactional environments and enjoys solving complex reconciliation and operational challenges. This role sits at the center of our financial operations. You will manage the daily accounting workflows that support our marketplace while working closely with the Controller to ensure all transactions are accurately captured in our accounting systems. This is a hands-on role, not a purely managerial position. The ideal candidate enjoys digging into data, reconciling complex transaction flows, and improving operational accounting processes. # What You'll Do ## Operate Core Financial Workflows - Manage daily financial operations related to marketplace activity - Track incoming buyer payments and ensure proper transaction recording - Assist in managing daily seller payouts (150–250 per day) - Help oversee purchase order workflows and payment readiness - Maintain accurate operational trade records ## Manage Transaction Tracking & Operational Accounting - Own and maintain the company’s trade activity logging process (Slack → Google Sheets workflow) - Ensure all marketplace trades are properly captured and reflected in operational records - Work closely with the Controller to ensure transactions flow accurately into QuickBooks Online - Assist with transaction classification and reconciliation support ## Reconcile High-Volume Financial Activity - Investigate and match incoming wire transfers to underlying marketplace transactions - Assist with reconciling high-volume transactional flows between internal systems and accounting records - Identify discrepancies and help resolve operational accounting issues ## Support Accounting Infrastructure - Work with the Controller to support improvements to our accounting automation and systems - Help monitor and validate data flowing from our internal platform (Nimbus) into QuickBooks - Support the development of more efficient operational accounting workflows ## Assist With Financial Close & Reporting - Support month-end and quarterly reporting processes - Assist with financial statement preparation for investors - Help ensure accounting data remains accurate and complete # What Success Looks Like Within the first 6 months, you will: - Take ownership of key operational accounting workflows - Reduce the Controller’s operational workload related to trade logging and payouts - Help maintain accurate transaction tracking across thousands of marketplace transactions - Become deeply familiar with the company’s transaction lifecycle and accounting structure Over time, this role is expected to grow into the Controller position as the company scales and the accounting function expands. # Who You Are You are an accountant who enjoys operational complexity, reconciliation challenges, and system-driven environments.
