About You

You are an experienced technical lead who is hungry to grow and move quickly. You understand the right balance between speed and quality and are willing to take calculated risks. You are passionate about developer experience, great system design, code org, readability and visibility. Engineers love working with you — you offer confident humility that accompanies a background of deep technical expertise. You understand the nuance inherent in communication, and that there is a difference between what you say and what people hear. You are deeply technical, but also deeply personable and embrace the individuality of each team member.

Your Experience

You have at least 8 years of being directly responsible for technical implementations with a team of other engineers You have at least 5 years of infrastructure implementation and design You have at least 10 years of working as a professional engineer You have experience working in an early stage startup You are experienced in several languages and are comfortable in Node/Typescript

Role Responsibilities

Code quality - define and maintain code quality standards SDLC implementation - define and implementation SDLC improvements Code reviews - as the responsible person for code making it to production, you will be focused on quality and accuracy from other engineers System design - you will constantly work on improving system design for efficiency and scalability Infrastructure maintenance and improvements - availability, visibility and scalability are vital to our success Be a mentor for other engineers on the team You will be the primary point of contact for software development questions

About Propify

Fundamentally, Propify is an API aggregator for the Property Management industry. Our product is similar to Plaid, merge.dev, and Finch. We make it easy for engineers to quickly integrate with multiple property management systems.

Our tech stack includes Node/Typescript, Postgres, RabbitMQ, Redis, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and ArgoCD.

We are in the top 10% of fastest growing YC companies in our batch. We raised a seed round with a prominent PropTech VC, we have happy customers, and revenue with a path to profitability later this year.

Technical evaluation

This is a live-coding exercise where you will be asked to solve some very reasonable, real-world problems while you share your screen - using your own IDE. No binary search trees or anything theoretical in this exercise. We are much more interested in how you solve common coding challenges.
