HOURS OF WORK:
The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reporting to the Director, Data Operations, the Reporting Engineer is responsible for (a) Creating compelling and highly usable dashboards and reports to support branches across the PRHC (b)Helping set up the BI and reporting standards and facilitate adherence to the same (c) Setting up a highly engaged BI, Data visualization and reporting community at the PRHC (d) Developing, managing and monitoring all organization ETL/ELT processes and procedures

The Reporting Engineer Role must be:

An expert in PRHCs standard BI/ Reporting tool – Power BI
A creative thinker with an ability to see and understand the end users’ vision, even when initial requirements may be vague or non-specific.
Able to engineer new data assets (data transformations) to ensure highly responsive products that minimize performance strain and data security risks using various delivery tools.
Inspire and motivate the user group and help with extending the usage of BI, reporting and data driven activities at the PRHC
A quick learner and a very hands-on individual with adept understanding of not only industry reporting techniques, but a willingness to develop deep contextual and domain knowledge across several functions and data sources

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Strong reporting and dashboard building skills using Power BI. Minimum of 5 years of experience creating dashboards and reports using BI Tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI etc.)
Operational experience in working with a variety of business data sets, and deriving valuable key performance indicators (KPIs)/Metrics
Experience and in Data Warehousing, ETL, Data Management, Cloud Environments
Advanced proficiency and experience working with data (structured and unstructured) business intelligence, analytics and reporting tools, such as: Tableau, Power BI, Python, or other SQL platforms.
Strong proficiency with SQL, Python, Spark
Adept in operating in cloud-based data platform, preferably Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ALDS, Fabric)
Familiarity and experience working with Data Lakes, and specifically Lakehouse formations
Passion to convey complex business “stories” through data visualization
Ability to use data, research, and experience develop engaging and intuitive data products and reports
Skilled negotiator and communicator with superior written and verbal communication skills
Advanced critical thinking, analytical and decision-making capabilities
Self-starter with excellent leadership abilities to self-guide complex work
A demonstrable passion for user experience, digital design, and technology
Results oriented and deadline driven with an ability to multi-task, set priorities, coordinate and schedule effectively
Familiar with Agile Methodologies, ideally having worked in an Agile team setting

WHO YOU ARE:

Undergraduate degree in STEM programs, including Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business or other related disciplineor5+ years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence and Reporting
Certificates or diplomas in technical areas, such as networking, cybersecurity, or systems administration
Completion of training programs or courses related to project management, leadership, or communication
Additional technical certifications or training, such as those offered by vendors or industry association
Five plus years of experience in the Data & Analytics industry, with increasing levels of responsibility over time. This experience should ideally include technical roles, such as Data Engineering or Data Visualization, as well as leadership or management positions. Able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
Azure/AWS/GCP Certifications an asset
Project Management Professional (PMP) an asset
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) an asset
