About the Role

As an Account Director, you'll play a key leadership role on a major scientific publications account, overseeing the successful delivery of publication programs while building strong, trusted relationships with your clients.

You'll partner closely with Scientific Services and cross-functional colleagues to translate client objectives into impactful publication plans, ensure operational and financial excellence, and lead and develop Client Services team members. You'll also bring a strategic mindset to the account, identifying opportunities to strengthen our work and grow the client partnership.

Here's What You'll Be Doing

Lead the day-to-day management and delivery of a keypublications account, overseeing a range of initiatives including publication planning, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, congress deliverables, and related scientific communications.
Build strong, trusted client relationships, serving as a senior point of contact and providing proactive guidance and strategic counsel.
Partner closely with Scientific Services and cross-functional teams to support publication strategy and ensure high-quality, compliant delivery.
Oversee account financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, profitability, reconciliation, invoicing, and achievement of financial targets.
Drive operational excellence across the account, implementing best practices and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, collaboration, and delivery.
Lead, coach, and develop Client Services team members, overseeing their work and ensuring they understand the broader account strategy and client objectives.
Support resource planning, team development, and training in partnership with senior Client Services leadership.
Identify opportunities for organic account growth and contribute to proposals, RFPs/RFIs, pitches, and the successful onboarding of new work.
Partner with senior account leadership on strategic planning, bringing knowledge of the publications landscape, client needs, and broader industry trends to the account.

About You:

Strong Client Services experience within a medical communications agency, with significant experience working onscientific publications accounts.
Proven experience managing complex publication programs and a strong understanding of publication planning and compliant delivery.
Demonstrated ability to build trusted pharmaceutical client relationships and provide proactive, solutions-focused counsel.
Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting, profitability, reconciliation, and overall account performance.
Experience leading and developing Client Services team members and collaborating closely with Scientific Services and other cross-functional partners.
Strong project and operational management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple priorities in a fast-paced agency environment.
A strategic and commercially minded approach, with experience identifying opportunities to grow and strengthen client partnerships.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for delivering high-quality scientific communications.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. We consider compensation more than just a base salary – that’s why we also offer an exceptional range of flexible benefits, personal support and tailored learning and development opportunities all designed to help you realize your full potential both in life and at work.

Compensation

$110,000—$145,000 USD
