Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Hiring and Recruitment: Build an A+ team of engineers by identifying, attracting, and retaining top talent.
Project Oversight: Oversee the development and implementation of AI solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standard of quality.
Strategy and Vision: Define the company's technical roadmap in alignment with business goals, ensuring Morningside AI remains at the forefront of AI innovation.
Process Optimisation: Establish and refine development processes, tools, and best practices to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as the technical liaison between the engineering team, clients, and executive leadership, ensuring clarity and alignment across all stakeholders.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of solutions.
Technology Trends: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in AI and software development to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or in a similar leadership role within a tech startup or fast-paced environment.
Strong technical expertise in software development, particularly in AI, machine learning, and full-stack engineering.
Proficiency in key technologies, such as Python, Flask, AWS, PostgreSQL, and front-end frameworks like React and Next.js.
Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing engineering teams.
Experience in hiring and recruiting top engineering talent.
Experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
A deep understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), SCRUM, agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines and project management best practices.
Strategic thinking and a strong business acumen, with the ability to align technical initiatives with organisational objectives.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
