We are looking for aProperty Tax Analyst,to help grow our business and contribute to our future.Upon hire,RSIwill provide initial, extensive role-based training over a four to five-week period with compensation.

In this role, the Property Tax Analyst will compute and verify through manual and automated processes, change events to real property assessments to assist Ontario municipalities with the implementation of tax policies. He/she contributes to records management on a property and client level.

Reporting to Manager, Operations, other highlights will include:

Applying complex set of rules, using custom in-house applications to complete data processing duties which involve both manual and automated aspects of data entry, updates, verification and detailed investigations.
Reviews and updates the property taxation system using information from the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). Analyzes property valuations for accuracy and if necessary, seeks corrective actions, which may involve collaborating with MPAC and the municipality.
Preferred knowledge of property tax principles and practices, as well as property assessment legislation, regulations, and requirements under the Municipal Act and Assessment Act.
Reviewing and analyzing property-relevant data from a variety of sources and processes.
Provide customer service for property tax and assessment inquiries related to property change events to municipal stakeholders through telephone, email, and written correspondence.
Adapting to fluctuating duties based on the requirements of the annual property tax cycle.
Working under tight timelines and high work volumes when required.
Verifying numerical data to ensure accuracy and error free data-entry.
Consulting with relevant stakeholders to discuss property tax data processes.
Participating on special teams as needed.

What you’ll need:

Post-secondary education
Strong working knowledge of MS-Word and MS-Excel.
Proficient in written and spoken English.
Problem solving:Identifies problems and conducts analysis, searches for solutions, involves others as needed when seeking solutions, and responds quickly to changes and challenges.
Ability to Analyze:Breaks down data and information applying complex set of rules to achieve conformance to instructions, identifies issues, reaches conclusions and considers different solutions while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Planning and Organizing:Prioritizes, handles multiple tasks, manages time, meets and adapts to multiple deadlines in time-sensitive situations with ability to work independently.
Teamwork:Works collaboratively and with integrity in decision making to achieve common goals and results.
Communication and interpersonal Relationships: Employs strong ability to give and receive accurate information both verbally and in writing that is clear, well-structured and targeted, uses strong presentation skills, builds strong and effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
