IOMETE is a Y Combinator-backed early stage startup in the $100Bn data infrastructure space. Key players in this industry are AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Databricks and many others.

Despite the many benefits that cloud computing has brought to the world, data infrastructure has become increasingly complex and expensive. Moreover, data and the need to utilize it for decision-making by man and machine is growing. IOMETE is capitalizing on these trends and intends to make data infrastructure easier at a significantly lower cost to the user. Over the past two years we developed a modern lakehouse platform that makes it easy and cost-effective to run BI and ML/AI workloads.

About IOMETE

IOMETE (YC W22) is an early stage startup. IOMETE's product is a data lakehouse that can be deployed on premise, in the cloud or both (hybrid). IOMETE's modern and open architecture, which includes the Iceberg table format and a powerful Spark engine, unifies your data in a single location, making it easy to run blazing-fast BI and ML/AI workloads on it. IOMETE is easy-to-use and our customers save 50% or more over incumbents.

About the role

Why "Sales Athlete?". We realize that Sales Athlete is an uncommon job title. We are looking for somebody who is a "sales athlete", i.e. can a little of everything: understands our business well, source their own leads (and iterates if it doesn’t work), manage the account and drive it to close.Your primary role is to bring in new paying customers.You build IOMETE’s outbound customer acquisition engine.

About You

CRITICAL:

You have 4+ years experience in a sales role at an (early stage) startup in the data space selling into Enterprise customers AND you have a big network and can sell into your network.
You are a 'closer'.
You live and are authorized to work in the continental USA.

GREAT TO HAVE:

You have experience building and leading a B2B sales team.
You have experience establishing mutually beneficial partnerships in the data infrastructure space.

The Job

Your job is to bring in new paying customers. To make that happen you will:
Craft and execute on outbound campaigns to prospective customers.
Do cold sales calls.
Become an IOMETE product expert.
Build our outreach stack (currently Hubspot, Apollo, Amplemarket).
Collaborate tightly with IOMETE’s founders and the broader team.

Compensation

If you bring in new customers, everyone wins. Therefore we combine a modest base salary with a generous commission and equity plan.
Commission: You will earn a commission that will be calculated as a % of the revenue of customers you have brought in.
Generous equity grant: You will share in the potential long-term equity upside. When IOMETE becomes a valuable company, you will share seriously in the value created.
Unlimited Paid Time Off: At IOMETE we assume positive intent and therefore we assume you can manage your own time.

Technology

The IOMETE data lakehouse platform uses the open source Apache Iceberg table format and a powerful Apache Spark query engine. The platform also includes Spark Jobs, an SQL Editor, a data catalog, data access controls and a notebook service. IOMETE has flexible deployment options. It can be deployed on premise, in your private cloud or on any major cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

You will speak with both cofounders and potentially one or two outside sales experts.
