FuturU is a disruptive ed-tech start-up with a vision to provide universal access to free health and social care education. Our ambition is to revolutionise existing educational approaches and leverage technology to deliver high-quality health and social care education while significantly reducing costs for the learner.

In addition to providing education and training to tens of thousands of health and social care professionals on demand (free for learners, subscription models for organisations), we are an Ofqual-regulated Awarding Organisation and Apprenticeship End-Point Assessment (EPA) Organisation approved to deliver EPA to apprentices for a growing number of apprenticeship standards in England, predominantly in the health and social care. We are also a Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Approved Centre delivering Scottish Vocational Qualifications to healthcare workers in Scotland.

Where does this role fit in?

As an Lead IQA you will support the Head of Quality and Compliance in effectively leading Quality Assurance activities undertaken by FuturU in accordance with its activities as an Awarding Organisation, EPAO and/or SQA approved centre. Delivering all necessary Quality Assurance, VACSR, standardisation and operational support of assessment services and the assessor community in line with the Qualification and Assessment Framework and Quality Cycle and in full compliance with all external regulator expectations and requirements, including OFQUALs. This role will be within the education division and provide operational support to the assessing community in accordance with the Assessment Framework and Quality Cycle.

Primary Responsibilities

Being the Lead IQA responsible for our level 2 Adult Care Worker, level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker and our level 3 Business Administrator standards.
Being responsible for leading quality assurance activities in relation to designated qualification and/or EPA apprenticeship standards within you areas of responsibility and occupational competence
Advising, supporting, and providing developmental feedback to IQA’s and assessors
Undertaking assessor supervisions
Ensuring IQA’s and assessors interpret, understand and consistency apply the relevant requirements, regulations, and standards
Identifying issues and trends whilst benchmarking assessments and undertaking double marking, moderation and other IQA activities.
Keeping up to date with all relevant legislation and qualification/ assessment requirements
Leading standardisation activities, to ensure accuracy of all assessment decisions and judgements.
Monitoring and observing the full learner journey throughout qualifications and EPA
Support the Head of Quality and Compliance with the liaison with all relevant regulatory bodies
Reviewing, updating and maintaining policies for the Awarding Organisation / EPA Team
Maintaining and updating information on all assessing and delivery staff to ensure they have the required qualifications and training.
Reviewing and maintaining staff CPD records for allocated qualifications and levels.
Be the main point of contact for proxies for the EPA delivery.
Leading Standardisation Meetings and leading on standardisation activities
Coordinating and supporting staff training days and workshops as required
Attending relevant external workshops and training days as required.
Implementing, supporting and coordinating IQA process.
Support with and coordinate quality assurance, monitoring and review processes and activities
Being a member of Quality Board and making reports on IQA activity
Keeping up to date with key areas such as Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values and Equality and Diversity and ensuring they are communicated and integrated in all quality assurance processes.
Supporting with the design and development of assessments, providing sector expertise and knowledge

Building relationships with external stakeholders, including working closely with training providers and employers.
Attend the Quality Board and participate in activities of its sub-groups, such as Design Group, Review Group, Learners Affairs Group, and Award Board when required.

Person Specification

Qualified to allow for oversight as Lead IQA responsible for our level 2 Adult Care Worker, level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker and our level 3 Business Administrator standards.
Occupationally competent (Management Level 5 & above)
2+ years of management experience.
Level 5 in Health and Social Care Qualification
Hold the relevant assessment, IQA and LIQA qualifications
Proven record of accomplishment and experience in coordinating and implementing all quality assurance processes and procedures relating to the assessment sector. Specifically, compliance with all awarding body standards and requirements and having an up-to-date knowledge of OFQUAL requirements.
