Job Summary:

Provide support for maintenance issues related to DNO Iraq AS operations. The role involves troubleshooting, skilled maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical equipment in the assigned field. This includes high-pressure compressors, gas plants, diesel generator sets, multi-stage surface pumps, product process plants, mobile plants, air compressors, heavy equipment, fire equipment, valves, heaters, vessels, workshop machines, lifting equipment, wellhead equipment, and other mechanical systems. The role also involves working with testing and measuring equipment, tools, and any other machinery necessary to meet operational needs.

The Mechanical Technician Coach will also organize on-the-job and classroom training for the mechanical team, including developing training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage, coach, teach, and mentor technicians and trainees; identify competencies, training requirements, and personnel development opportunities. Provide strong line supervision for direct reports to ensure teams always have adequate skills and resources.
Advise mechanical technicians on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing static and rotating mechanical equipment.
Participate in the installation, commissioning, and start-up of static and rotating mechanical equipment components.
Develop and implement maintenance plans and preventive maintenance schedules using the CMMS for static and rotating mechanical equipment components.
Advise mechanical supervisors on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing static and rotating mechanical equipment.
Review reports on equipment failures and provide advice on solutions.
Review and evaluate mechanical equipment inventories to ensure spare parts availability, control inventory, and order parts as needed.
Provide technical and operational input during site acceptance testing, commissioning, and start-up of new mechanical equipment installations.
Recommend upgrades or other system improvements to meet operating objectives more efficiently and cost-effectively.
Carry out all operational activities in accordance with company, local, and international HSE rules and regulations.
Ensure that an approved Permit to Work is in place before beginning any work activity and that all permit conditions are adhered to throughout the job.
Ensure compliance with policies regarding hazardous area classifications and equipment usage.
Ensure complete isolation of mechanical equipment before commencing maintenance and repair work.
Determine maintenance requirements and establish priorities for maintenance work; analyze maintenance requests and develop scopes of work.
Develop operating manuals and suggest preventive maintenance measures.
Plan and lead major maintenance activities.
Perform special assignments as directed, utilizing engineering knowledge and experience.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical or maintenance fields within the oil and gas industry.
Advanced knowledge of maintenance methods and practices across multiple disciplines.
Proficiency in using CMMS (experience with Epicor is an advantage).
Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
