This department typically works 7-4 or 8-5 CST Monday-Friday.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage consumer centralized documentation specialists; will have the responsibility for training, performance reviews and hiring decisions.

Job Summary: Responsible for the directing and overseeing the operations, risk management of the Consumer Loan team including the ultimate success of the following activities:

Preparing loan documentation
Closed loan file review
Mortgage recording perfection
Branch loan error corrections & tracking
The mentoring and training (the team as well as branch managers) in the consumer loan processes.

This person will work closely with the Consumer Doc Prep & File Manager, Loan Operations Manager, Consumer Loans Manager, Consumer Underwriters, and Compliance as necessary to optimize processes and controls for efficiency and compliance with all bank policies and regulatory requirements. Additionally, this individual will be an expert in all laws and regulations relating to Centier’s consumer loan program. Specifically: Reg B, Tila Respa Integrated Disclosure Rules, Reg C- HMDA, Reg O, Military Lending Act and the Patriot Act as well as Indiana state laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Control

Ensure that each loan document package contains accurate information based on the underwriter’s approval, loan policy and consumer loan guidelines.
Review internally prepared loan documentation and track for document deficiencies/exceptions.
Ensure all collateral is perfected (through recording, UCC filing, or by obtaining physically) for all loans processed by the team

Process Optimization

Work closely with Consumer Doc Prep & File Manager, Consumer Loan Manager, Loan Operations Manager to evaluate opportunities to streamline loan processes without exposing the bank to excessive risk.
Propose new procedures when appropriate to maximize efficiency while maintaining compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Staff Training & Development

Ensure team is properly trained for their work duties in accordance with bank policy and procedures.
Motivate associates and deepen culture within the department to ensure complete engagement relative to company values and Essentials of Excellence
Responsible for hiring and/or developing staff to help meet the bank’s long-term objectives. Must complete performance reviews and recommendations for promotion and/or salary increases for staff.
Oversee the CDP Tour training course for retail staff who close loans.

Regulatory Compliance

Establish, implement and manage workflows and processes to ensure complete compliance with applicable regulations, standards and statues including:
- Reg B
- TILA RESPA- TRID
- Reg O
- Military Lending Act
- Patriot Act

Responsible for seeking out training opportunities for the team regarding said regulations and maintaining a current working knowledge of such.
Reg C- HMDA: Is now the bank’s compliance expert concerning the new HMDA regulations for originated consumer loans due to the restructuring of the compliance department. Must ensure regulatory compliance and reporting is adhered to; as well as the input and verification of such information in the Questsoft software. Monthly internal scrubs for accuracy must be performed as well as continued HMDA training for self and the team to ensure understanding and completeness of vital government reporting data.

Software

Researches and tests Laser Pro release notes and software in Laser Pro Test site before going live with the software updates.
Utilizes the Finastra Knowledge Center for Regulatory information, guidance on software changes and trouble shooting, and works with the Finastra help desk on troubleshooting system issues.
Utilizes the Questsoft Enterprise software for HMDA reporting.
Utilizes Mark IV software for consumer applications and approvals.
Manage E-Recording account through Simplifile

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong working knowledge of all banking regulations, lending policies, procedures, and techniques.
Demonstrated expertise in loan documentation and collateral perfection requirements.
Strong knowledge of loan documentation software, such as Laser Pro
Exceptional leadership and organizational skills along with the ability to multi-task, manage changing priorities, and handle difficult conversations while following the essentials of excellence.
Ability to think outside the box while keeping the bank’s interest in mind.
Results-oriented
Strong service orientation

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree (Bachelor’s preferred)
At least 5 years of a consumer loan concentration with 2 years prior management experience.

Internal Pay Level 8

Once trained there is the ability to work hybrid/remote.
