Byte Kitchen has built a first of its kind Restaurant Operating System. Byte Kitchen counts many iconic restaurants as its customers including World Wrapps, Oren’s Hummus, The Little Chihuahua and others. The software is built for operators, by operators. Byte Kitchen is backed by leading investors including Y-Combinator, Crosslink Capital, WndrCo, Soma Capital and strategic angels like the founder of Caviar. We are a small and rapidly expanding team, and are seeking entrepreneurial individuals to join us. We are obsessed with what makes a great user experience - and we’re developing the tools that make it possible top to bottom in the antiquated, multi - Trillion dollar food service industry. ### **Your role:** We are seeking a full stack developer to expand our product offerings, help with existing technology and be the technical owner of our software suite. As an early member of the team you will have significant autonomy, and be involved in both the day-to-day and strategic decisions of Byte Kitchen. You will steer the direction of our technology products, and join an engineering culture that champions empathy for the end user. If you are passionate about building technology to power the future of the restaurant industry, this is the right role for you. ### **Responsibilities:** Build and guide our growing team and evolving product as an early technology team member Develop an in-depth understanding of our business model, space, and end user Assist in developing our technology roadmap for both the near and long term Work closely with the founding team on product direction decisions and strategy Work with the founders to attract and employ likewise impassioned engineers set on bringing BK's vision to life ### **Ideal experience:** 4+ years experience as a full stack engineer/ solutions architect Proficiency in front end languages (JavaScript, Next.JS, React.JS, TypeScript, HTML, CSS) Proficiency in server-side languages (NodeJS ideal) Experience with Cloud (Firestore ideal, AWS) Comfort with Databases (Firebase, MySQL, Postgres) Experience working on Vercel, Expo Experience working with APIs Experience building products from scratch Excellent problem solving and communication skills **Bonus:** Startup experience / experience in food tech or logistics companies ### **You are:** **Scrappy:** you know when to prioritize speed over scalability and are comfortable making those decisions **Comfortable with ambiguity:** some things you work on may never become full products.
