Overall Purpose of the Role

Sales Manager – Tanzania is responsible for the overall performance of the local sales team and drive development and growth of Burhani’s business in Tanzania and maintaining and cultivating key relationships and business/project activity within country.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Country Solution Sales of Burhani SBU’s of Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil and Electrical solutions business

· Monthly and quarterly forecast of order intake, relevant to targets assigned.

· Develop strategic key account approach in coordination with BD team, especially with focus on Govt and semi Govt accounts.

· Build long-term partnering relationships with Clients/ Contractors and actively participate in the decision-making process to drive the sales. Actively listen, probe and identify concerns.

· Understand the customers’ needs. Demonstrate managerial skills to develop credibility, loyalty, trust and commitment.

· Positively and credibly influence strategies with Client. To ensure the submission of competitive, high quality and timely estimates, proposals, and cost/benefit analysis in coordination with your team

· Review and define different market segments and accordingly form a strategy to address the needs with wide range of offerings with Burhani or 3rd party

· Competitive Information Gathering/Strategy on project-to-project basis.

· Training / keep self-up to date on technical changes to improve technical know-how.

· Excellent relations with Local Sub vendors, sub-contractors, especially with all 3rd party subsystem suppliers, installation vendors to compile most competitive bid.

· Adhere to company processes, compliances and policies, with zero tolerance, while executing professional responsibilities

· Support pro-actively and communicate effectively with the entire team.

· Manage the Tanzania Sales team effectively for better market coverage.

· Guide the team for aggressive approach and winning attitude for consistent performance.

· Develops relationship with centralized support staff to exceed customers' expectations.

· Share Best Practices/Experiences with Team

Essential functions

· Extensive customer facing/engagement exposure, effective management of Sales team, prudent yet ambitious planning and forecasting approach.

· At least 10 years’ experience in East Africa market.

· Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan and strategy for the country based strategic accounts in close coordination with the Country Director and Sales Management. Ensure the tactical implementation of the business plan is consistent with the SBU initiatives and compliance to SBU sales targets, growth CAGR (forecasting efforts/plans), and new product penetration.

· Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented throughout the entire sales channel, i.e. Safety, Quality, and Compliance

· Conduct/participate in communication meetings to provide feedback on sales (wins & losses), competitive dynamics, customer preferences/perception & other economic/market factors that drive & protect core business and aid product development efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years (min) of sales experience in Oil & Gas, Power & Water, Mining, F&B and Renewables Industries in East Africa (preferable Tanzania).
Of which at least 5 years’ experience in managing multi-cultural teams.
Familiar with field/analytical instrumentation and flow meters
Understanding of local approval processes

Experience

Strong industry credibility and proven success with selling EPC solutions and providing technical support is mainstay.
Lead by example in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational, selling skills and work habits.
Extensive experience in all aspects of supplier relationship/customer management with a keen and strategic understanding of the Instrumentation Group and end-user strategy is central.
Demonstrates ability to effectively interact, cooperate and communicate (i.e., must has good oral, written and presentation skills) within a multi-layered matrix organization.
Must possess superior “soloing” skills needed to navigate through the Burhani group Organization and get things done to support strategic customers.
