This is a key role within a major business unit of a privately owned Swiss based international group which has a prominent market position within its international capital goods market sector. It has an excellent investment record and high growth forecast for its emerging new product ranges and its worldwide service and support business, building upon an international installed base covering well over a hundred countries.

This new position will report directly to the Head of Sales & Marketing for the business and will join an existing marketing team, based in London, which provides overall marketing support to the associated international businesses through a well established matrix structure. The role carries overall responsibility for the development and implementation of a digital marketing programme that will take advantage of the opportunities presented by new media, tools and technologies that digital marketing can offer with specific accent on the marcom aspects of the function. Ideal candidates will already have had early career experience in general marketing roles, based upon a graduate background and some management experience, with a recent and growing specialisation in digital techniques supported by professional development and/or a higher degree providing familiarity and strong working knowledge of the latest techniques including website development, podcasts, blogs, pay-per-click, SEO, CMS, SEA and the like.

You will have the experience and maturity to operate effectively within an extended matrix organisational structure and will have the creativity, confidence, communications ability and drive to be able to introduce and champion the new techniques as appropriate for the business and its objectives. You will also be required to act as the digital marketing expert within a group of professional colleagues and to naturally take a leadership position in programmes requiring these emerging technologies and, more generally, with regard to the development and implementation of the forward marketing strategy for the business unit. Operating within an international business of this nature will place a heavy accent on communication and collaboration and there will be an associated element of international travel particularly to headquarters in Switzerland bearing in mind the leadership aspects of the position.
